Jack Curtis

"I am a retired electrical engineer, spending some 47 years with NEEB, finishing my career as a Senior Project Engineer and specialising in industrial contracting.  I carried out many varied contracts, from shipyards, glass furnaces, paint manufacturing and printing works etc.  I was also consultant to SAFC at Roker Park football ground for 19 years".

"I have been retired for 24 years and during that time have written several books on local history, given lectures and talks on a wide variety of subjects.  I have been a published freelance writer for the last 55 years with my work being published by International Magazines.  I was a bass singer in a local male voice choir for 32 years winning competions at national level and one international competition.  I have had a full and varied life with many great experiences and have been a life long pigeon fancier.  I am the grandson of the old Sunderland Port diver and spent many of my formative years living with them on Sunderland Docks and am therefore a keen supporter of Sunderland Maritime Heritage".
