Tommy Rowe - Vice President

Tommy Rowe is the vice president at Sunderland Maritime Heritage (SMH). He has previously held the role of chairman and joined SMH circa 1999.


Tommy left St. Hildas RC. School in December 1954. He joined William Doxford & Sons shipbuilders as an apprentice joiner in January 1955. 

He gained knowledge working in various shipyards, then worked for several big building firms, finishing at Derek Crouch as a trainee site foreman. 


Tommy then started his own general building company called North Eastern Builders.


He retired from the business in 2000 and his son still runs it.
