Attached are some photos of the Sunderland built barque Lota.
My Wife's Great Grandfather, John Toppin, was the ship's carpenter on two voyages to Chile in 1895/96 and 1896/97. I think the photos were probably taken at this time off Valparaiso. The Lota was owned by Turner Edwards of Bristol, and Bristol Record Office have a good run of Crew Agreements. |
