| The James Craig, pride of the Australian Heritage fleet
based in Sydney, Australia was originally built as the Clan MacLeod in
1874 at the Sunderland shipyard of Bartram, Haswell & Co for the Scottish
ship-owner and merchant Thomas Dunlop.
By 1930 the days of sail had passed and she was abandoned at Recherche Bay, Tasmania until 1972 when she was re-floated in readiness for restoration, which was carried out in Sydney. The James Craig is a fine example of what the City of Adelaide could be for Sunderland. |
