News 2003 |
September 2003 Our centre at the South Dock, within the confines of the Port of Sunderland was open to public viewing for 2 days (13th,14th) as part of a national weekend event organised by the Civic Trust. This enabled visitors not only to see work in progress on restorations and our library of photographs, but to view the docks themselves which are normally closed to the public. The event proved a great success for us with more visitors than expected considering how inaccessible we are. |
July 2003 The Scottish Maritime Museum have released a press statement detailing a two year reprieve for the 'City of Adelaide', thanks to the intervention of businessman Mike Edwards. The model of the 'City of Adelaide' was on
display at the Sunderland International Airshow, while anchored off
Seaburn was Sunderland's adopted warship, HMS Ocean. |
